Copy that. 404 returning

Did you know that Novascape’s Director is also a firefighter?

Since May 2013, Tim Helman has been employed as a retained firefighter at station 404 New Lambton. Being a retained firefighter means that Tim is on call to assist in emergency situations 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. However, he is not required to attend all emergencies. There are 16 crew at New Lambton meaning that there are always enough firies to attend an emergency even while others remain at there full-time jobs.

Tim regularly attends drills, and you’ll often catch him returning from an AFA (automatic fire alarm) at the John Hunter Hospital.

Tim continues to improve his skills having recently completed training courses in providing basic emergency life support and advanced resuscitation techniques.

We’re not sure how he manages to fit it all in between managing 15 staff, estimating and project management, but we know he absolutely loves doing it.

So next time you see the 404 New Lambton truck around town, have a look to see if Tim’s onboard. And give him a wave.
