Timber is one of the materials that we use a lot of. Many of our projects utilise timber for retaining walls, decks and verandahs, pergolas, planter boxes, bench seats, privacy screens and even carports. Structural landscapers are trained to build all of these.
We do so much timber work, we decided that it was time to put on a qualified carpenter. (In fact, we put on two and one apprentice.)
Novascape is excited to welcome our long-time friend and colleague Marty Dunkin onboard as Estimator and Project Manager. Marty has been a carpenter for over 16 years and ran his own construction business for many years. He’s excited to be able to focus his carpentry skills on the structures that he loves; “it’s a beautiful time when the landscape integrates with the structure… the right deck or pergola bridges the gap between the two” says Marty. We’re really pleased to be able to offer Marty’s expertise and enthusiasm to all our clients.
We also welcome Josh Turner to the team as Site Supervisor. Like Marty, Josh has over 16 years experience as a carpenter and has worked with Marty and Novascape in the past.
Joining Marty and Josh is our newest apprentice, and our first carpentry apprentice, Brandon Carmody. Brandon is a second year apprentice and, under guidance from Marty and Josh, will be learning all about outdoor timber work.
These changes mean that we are now much better equipped to deliver more complex and extensive timber structures within the landscapes that we create. We’re very excited about what we will now be able to offer our clients.
Keep your eyes open as we start to reveal some of our new capabilities via the website, Facebook and Instagram.
And if you’ve got an enquiry about a deck, pergola, bench seats, planter boxes, privacy screens or a carport get in touch! We’d love to put you in touch with Marty.
